Grid trading: grid profit is not total return
Work through the four checks below, then use the related tools or contact support if an account-specific question remains.
Understand the mechanism
A grid strategy places repeated orders across selected price levels. Its results depend on price movement, filled orders and costs. It cannot guarantee profit simply by placing many orders.
Read realised and unrealised results
Completed buy-and-sell cycles can show positive grid profit while remaining inventory loses value. Assess realised gains, open holdings, charges and total account equity together.
Costs and market conditions
Repeated trading accumulates fees. Derivative strategies can also incur funding. A trending market can leave inventory or exposure outside the intended range; review the actual strategy settings and exit conditions.
Use a complete review
Record the range, capital, current holdings, realised result, unrealised result and all costs. Compare total equity with the initial capital. A green grid-profit number is only one part of that review.
