Stablecoins: check the mechanism, network and cost
Work through the four checks below, then use the related tools or contact support if an account-specific question remains.
What supports the peg?
A stablecoin may rely on reserves, crypto collateral or another mechanism. Check the issuer, disclosures and redemption arrangements. A one-dollar target does not guarantee one-dollar redemption for everyone at all times.
Names are not enough
Check the receiving network and token contract, including whether the token is an issuer-native or wrapped version. An exchange may accept one version and reject another.
Separate cost from risk
Costs may include spreads, trading fees, withdrawal charges and gas. Risks include depegging, issuer, custody, contract and bridge exposure. A cheaper transfer does not remove those risks.
A practical checklist
Identify the intended use, confirm what the recipient accepts, check minimum amounts and retain enough of the native fee asset. Test the full route with a small amount first.
This is an independently written practical guide. Product availability, network support and exchange terms can change. Verify the relevant product screen before acting; examples are not live quotes.
