Glamsterdam on Hoodi is postponed: the old schedule is superseded
The Ethereum Foundation has removed the planned activation and accompanying 200M gas schedule. No replacement date is set; this concerns a testnet, not mainnet activation.
Confirmed: the previous schedule is superseded
The Ethereum Foundation’s 22 October notice postpones Hoodi’s activation previously set for 26 October at 17:42:48 UTC. No replacement date is set, and the accompanying 200M gas-limit schedule is removed. A correction now leads the 16 October announcement; the older table below it is not a current schedule.
Panda view: future configuration is not chain history
The Foundation distinguishes removing a future upgrade configuration from reverting Hoodi’s existing history. This is neither evidence of a mainnet incident nor a changed mainnet activation date: this notice does not set one. A changed testing timetable calls for renewed checks, not a price or return prediction.
Worked example: a saved guide still opens
Imagine a team saved the older announcement and entered 27 October at 01:42:48 Beijing time in its test calendar. The timezone conversion is correct, but the plan it describes is superseded. Our suggested workflow is to retain the screenshot as history, replace the calendar assumption with “await a new announcement”, and review execution, consensus and validator-tool configurations separately. An entry in an old download table does not prove that a release includes the postponement. This is a workflow example; Panda has not operated a reader’s node or certified software versions.
User impact and unknowns
Hoodi operators should follow revised instructions from their own client teams; application tests cannot rely on the old activation date. Ethereum mainnet users and ETH holders do not need a token swap because of this testnet notice. We have not verified every client package or node state, have no replacement date and provide no compatibility certification.
Source correction trail
A 20 October media report describes the earlier date; the 22 October official update supersedes it. Panda’s first publication uses the postponed status and retains the two announcements and older report as an evidence trail. Original dates are preserved. Consult the official notice for the technical investigation and further updates.
