Ethereum in 30 minutes: companion notes
Panda companion notes explaining the themes of the source talk. These are independent teaching notes, not a transcript. Video playback is not hosted on this page.
Ethereum and ETH
Ethereum is a network that processes accounts, transactions and contracts. ETH is its native asset and can pay execution fees. An application token does not replace the network’s fee asset.
What a wallet controls
A wallet displays accounts and prepares signatures. Before signing, check the network, destination, amount and permissions. Recovery credentials may restore account control and must not be shared with support.
Execution and scaling
Contracts execute according to their rules, not the wording of a button. Limited network resources can affect costs and waiting times. Scaling approaches use different execution and settlement paths; understand entry and exit as well as fees.
Check your understanding
Explain the difference between an address, a network and an asset. Find the status and fee of a historical transaction. Explain why an identical address format does not prove that two services use the same network.
